Further to our previous news items about Nick Mason's long-awaited, and much anticipated, book about Pink Floyd, called "Inside Out - A Personal History", to be published on September 9th, we have had some more updates this week, that we can share with you.
Firstly, the cover. The image to the right is a promotional image only, and we have been told by the
publishers that a new cover has now been created. Interestingly, it is a new picture, that has been
designed by Storm Thorgerson, despite his current health problems (he suffered a major stroke last
October, on the eve of the wonderful "Interstellar" exhibition held in Paris). As yet, we do not have the new image - indeed, this and other details are being held back due to an exclusive deal that the publishers have with a major newspaper for serialisation.
This will be part of the large campaign to promote the book. Amongst other things, there will also be BBC radio interviews, book signings, magazine articles, and more. For once, it sounds like a Pink Floyd product will get some good, high profile promotion!
With regard to progress of his book, Nick confirmed to us via email this week that all is on track for the mid-September publication of the tome. From what we've seen so far, September can't come soon enough!
