In the latest issue of the UK's Classic Rock Magazine (May 2005), Pink Floyd's Nick Mason is rated at number 42 in their poll of "The 50 Greatest Drummers In Rock".
They call his "defining moment" his performance on Summer '68, from the Atom Heart Mother album. They mention his "rather understated and unfussy approach [which] perfectly suited all incarnations of the band."
They also include a fairly brief but interesting interview, concentrating on the lack of confidence within the band following the split with Roger Waters. In particular, during the recording of the Momentary Lapse Of Reason album, where a lot of the drumming was done by others.
Nick also mentions that David Gilmour still hasn't said that the band is all over - he says that he doesn't think that David's decided yet to call it a day. Nick reveals that he misses the touring, as he misses the playing... obviously still keen for a new band project.
