Almost five years after the original release, Columbia Records are re-promoting Pink Floyd's "Is There Anybody Out There - The Wall Live 1980-81" with a new promotional item which is appearing in collectors stores and internet auction sites.
We've sought, and received, confirmation that this is a legitimate item; the worldwide market is heavily saturated with fake coloured and picture vinyl releases, so wanted to check this on your behalf.
The white vinyl 7" single holds a live version of Another Brick In The Wall pt 2 on both sides. The
single, and detail from the label, is shown to the right; the single comes in a clear plastic sleeve, with a small barcode sticker on it.
A limited number of copies of this promo were recently reported to be shrink-wrapped with the Wall movie DVD in a US chain of stores. These apparently sold very quickly and are no longer available.
"Is There Anybody Out There" was released in April 2000, and provided listeners with an official recording of the band performing "The Wall" live. The Wall shows were the last concerts featuring the "classic" line-up headed by Roger Waters and David Gilmour. Richard Wright had left the band, but was brought back to perform the concerts.
