Many of you will be aware of photographer Mick Rock's stunning "Psychedelic Renegades" book, published as a signed, limited edition by the specialist company Genesis Publications (reviewed in full here). The book reveals Rock's archives of Syd Barrett shots, and indeed his old friend even signed a frontispiece on the first 320, deluxed editions - these are hugely sought after these days as they are one of the few authentic items signed by Barrett himself.

The good news is that a new, non-deluxe version will be published worldwide soon, and we have more details of this for you...

"Syd Barrett: Pink Floyd's Crazy Diamond" will feature a few less pictures, and a little less text, but will include a new introduction from Mick.

 With around 150 colour and black & white pictures across its 144 pages, it is a large format, hard-backed book, printed on good paper stock, as befitting the subject matter.

As our review of the Genesis edition stated, this is an enthralling, and beautiful, look at Syd - said to be Mick's entire archive - and this 'trade' edition should be an essential purchase for all those who couldn't get hold of the former.
