It was with great pleasure that Brain Damage attended the press launch of Storm Thorgerson's London exhibition - "Taken By Storm", last night. The exhibition, a showcase for Storm’s artwork including many fantastic Pink Floyd items, is being held at the John Martin Gallery in Chelsea, London, from September 22nd until October 9th 2004.

There were many superb examples of Storm's work around the walls of the former warehouse, all of which are available to buy, including the balls used on the Paris "Interstellar" exhibition promotional posters, and the original stained glass window created for the 30th Anniversary SACD of Dark Side Of The Moon. All the artworks are personally signed by Storm, and are individually created, limited editions.

Many examples of his work for Pink Floyd were included, alongside pieces for other artists and bands. The highlight was the chance to have a chat with Storm; myself and Phil (who runs RogerWatersOnline) spent a fascinating half-hour with Storm covering a number of different subjects. Storm was on great form - his candour and sharp wit allied with his amazing memory, made for a great end to the evening. The interview is being transcribed and will be with you as soon as it is finished, along with a number of pictures from the event.

In the meantime, be sure to enter our competition (see details below) to win a signed copy of his book, "Mind Over Matter - The Images Of Pink Floyd"!

Details of the exhibition, and images of the limited edition prints, can be seen at the event website at www.jmlondon.com. These prints are wonderfully produced and would make great display items.

To win a copy of Mind Over Matter - The Images Of Pink Floyd, written by Storm Thorgerson, and signed by the man himself along with Peter Curzon, who is responsible for much of the work, enter our great competition! You have just over three weeks to get your answers in, with entries accepted until October 8th 2004. Good luck!

We have set three questions, all relating to Storm and his career:

1. What was the name of Storm's famous design company, that he ran with Aubrey Powell, that was responsible for the majority of Pink Floyd's album covers?
2. What was the first Pink Floyd album cover he designed?
3. Name another two performers or bands that Storm has designed cover artwork for.

Please send your answers, together with your name and full postal address (so we know where to send your prize to!), to us via this email address. Be sure to get your answers to us by October 8th; the lucky winner will be selected from the correct entries shortly after, once we have sorted through everyone's answers. Please - one entry per person. GOOD LUCK!

Our thanks to Robin at Media Contemporary Arts for her generous assistance, to Peter Curzon, and of course to Storm Thorgerson.
