There have been a number of reports in the international media, following the recent Live 8 concert in
London, which featured a headline making appearance by Pink Floyd reunited with Roger Waters for the
event.
The reports note that the band have been offered various amounts for either a US tour, or indeed just a one-off show in the States. Figures of $150million-$200million are being bandied about; this is nothing new though - the band have been getting such approaches for some years now. With Roger Waters and David Gilmour both working on solo albums at present, and Nick Mason working on various versions of his book, "Inside Out", there are absolutely no plans for any more concerts in the foreseeable future.
David and Roger are intending to do concerts in their own right, next year, but no group work is under consideration.
In separate, related news, we've been going through a mass of pictures and reports that we've received from kind Brain Damage visitors. On our Live 8 index page, we have posted a selection of galleries, from the show itself and from the rehearsals the previous evening. There's also a few concert reviews, too.
Amongst the pictures, you can see the full version of the picture to the right, which features David
Gilmour taking a quick drink midway through their performance!
We are currently picking out some of the best comments from the 200+ reports that we've received from Brain Damage visitors, along with some more, great pictures from the event, including some special, professional shots that have been given to us (and that haven't been seen elsewhere, to our knowledge).
Some interesting stuff will be added in the next few days... we hope you enjoy them!
