With just three days left until the arrival of the Live 8 DVD for most countries, the official website for the release has made the second, and concluding, half of an exclusive interview with Sir Bob Geldof, available as a podcast or download.
In Part 2 of the Live 8 Podcast Bob was asked how he felt about playing to 200,000 people in Hyde Park, what he thought was achieved politically from the whole series of events and how he managed to cajole
Pink Floyd back into playing live. Somehow he managed to talk the seminal line up to perform with Roger Waters for the first time in 24 years! There are more audio clips from the concerts, including Pink Floyd's performance of 'Money' from the event.
The first part had Sir Bob talking about the joys and struggles of putting together such an amazing, and massive live music event. As the architect of Live 8, and its chief whip, Sir Bob talks us through the
highs and the lows, the success and the failure, the emotional and physical effects that this
international call to action has had on the world we live in.
You can download both parts of the incredible Live 8 story on to your iPod or other MP3 player right now, through http://www.live8livedvd.com/ms/publicsites/live8dvd/podcast/?view=xmlfeed&type=podcast (requires that you have a podcast feed reading application).
The full press release for the DVD, with the track listing, and other details, can be found in our 6th September news story. It really is a mammoth set, and deserves a place in music fans homes - not least, as the proceeds go to charity. It can be ordered through our special Amazon links.
