It is with much sadness that we heard the announcement today of the death of John Martyn. The talented, and somewhat underrated, guitarist and songwriter, was a huge influence on many artists, and he collaborated with a number of other performers over the years.

David Gilmour was one of these, guesting on a few of John's albums and joining him onstage at London's Shaw Theatre during The Apprentice tour of 1990.
