The official timings from the hillclimb event, the centrepiece of the Goodwood Festival Of Speed, are now in. The event involves driving from the bottom of the main part of Goodwood estate, past Goodwood House (Lord March's home), and up a steep hill, passing extremely close to things like flint walls - not renowned for being car-bodywork friendly!
Not all cars post official times, just doing demonstration runs, but others compete to be the best of their class.
Saturday had Nick Mason post fourth fastest time in his class, getting up the hill in 80.1 seconds in his Ferrari 512S. Steve O'Rourke, the band's manager, took part in his McLaren BMW F1 GTR "Longtail", and was second in his class, at 60.22 seconds.
Sunday didn't see a time posted by Nick, but Steve was fourth in his class at 61.72 seconds.
