Brain Damage and A Fleeting Glimpse

Pink Floyd 1987WELCOME TO THE 26th YEAR OF BRAIN DAMAGE, YOUR PINK FLOYD, DAVID GILMOUR, NICK MASON, SYD BARRETT, RICHARD WRIGHT AND ROGER WATERS NEWS RESOURCE!

A very happy 2025 to you all - and let's hope that there's some interesting Pink Floyd-related activity on the horizon. This year sees the 50th anniversary of Wish You Were Here, which is an incredible thought; where does the time go?!

David Gilmour's superb new album, Luck and Strange, has now been released in a variety of formats, and a selection of coloured vinyls. A limited number of concert dates were announced, and these have thrilled crowds in Brighton and London, England, Rome, Italy, and Los Angeles and New York, USA - see all the confirmed and now completed David Gilmour concert dates here. We're eager for your views on each of the shows, and really welcome comments, reviews, pictures or anything else you'd be willing to share with the Floyd community - [email protected] is the address to use - thank you!

The Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets 2024 Set The Controls tour revealed a band in even better form than the 2022/23 shows which managed to exceed everyone's hopes and expectations! Our sincerest hopes are that they continue. Don't forget that there's the live recording from London's Roundhouse on Blu-ray, DVD/2CD, and 2LP which is really excellent.

Finally, Roger Waters read three extracts from his memoirs in October 2023 at the London Palladium, so it might not be too long before that is published...he's also working on his new album based around The Bar - we'll let you know as soon as we get all the info!

For one night only: Storm Thorgerson & Roger Dean Print E-mail

Storm ThorgersonWhen we think of album covers from rock’s golden age we automatically think of two names: Storm Thorgerson and Roger Dean. For one night only - October 28th - these two giants of the art of album cover design are coming together in London to talk about their lives and show their work.

Storm Thorgerson is of course best known for his seminal cover art for Pink Floyd and many others. Roger Dean’s name is synonymous with 70s prog rock band Yes. But he is also a visionary designer working in architecture, furniture design, and original works of art. As with Thorgerson, he tells a good tale.

Both men will be on stage talking about their work, describing life with rock’s aristos, and recounting the stories behind the album covers that enthralled a generation.

Tickets for the event, being held at Logan Hall, Bedford Way, London, are £12.50 and can be ordered now through UnitEditions.com. The event runs from 7:30pm - 9pm, and promises to be quite an evening...

UPDATE, October 11th: Regrettably, this event has been cancelled due to unforseen circumstances. Refunds will be available for those who have already bought tickets.
