The new issue of the UK's Classic Rock magazine (due to hit newsagents today) includes a feature on the Live 8 reunion between Roger Waters, and Pink Floyd. In their promotional material for the new issue, they note that they have "the exclusive inside story" on the band getting back together. We've not seen the magazine yet, so cannot vouch for the extent of the article - but will update this story once we know.
The main feature in the magazine is the story of Thin Lizzy, which of course enjoyed the talents of Snowy White, who also played with Pink Floyd live in 1977 and 1980, and subsequently on the road and in the studio with Roger Waters.
Elsewhere in the magazine there are features on Deep Purple's "In Rock" album, Soundgarden, Alice Cooper and the Plasmatics.
They are also running their reader awards, seeking the public's vote on a set of five categories - Album, and Band, Of The Year, Best Reissue, Classic Rock Collection (best "Best Of"), DVD Of The Year, and Classic Rock Event Of The Year.
The website for casting votes - www.classicrockmagazine.com/readerawards/, offers a shortlist in each category. In the Event Of The Year, to be awarded to the "greatest tour, reunion or dropped-me-bacon-sandwich moment of the last 12 months", amongst Queen reforming with Paul Rodgers, Cream At The Albert Hall, and the Mötley Crue reunion, is the natural choice: Pink Floyd reforming for Live 8! Cast your votes today and make sure that the Floyd triumph in this poll, too!
