75knebWendy Bannister, wife of the legendary concert promotor Freddy Bannister, has contacted us with details of a very special prize they are giving to one lucky Brain Damage visitor!

As many of you will know, they have put together some very special box sets, collecting together high quality reproductions of rare memorabilia, and relating the true stories, from the various concerts they put on in the late 1960s and throughout the 1970s.

Because so many Pink Floyd fans asked them whether it was possible to have a set that includes both the Floyd 1970 Bath Festival CDs and the Floyd's 1975 Knebworth CDs, they brought out a set that combines both festivals. These sets are individually numbered (there's just 200 in total), and hand signed by Freddy Bannister. The older sets have already proved good investments for some - one of the Knebworth sets bought after seeing it mentioned on our site was sold for double the price paid, a couple of months later!

The combined Bath and Knebworth set, priced at £59.99 (plus shipping) includes the following:

  • The programmes, flyers and tickets from the following festivals:
      1970 Bath Festival
      1975 Knebworth Festival
  • A handbill advertising Pink Floyd's appearance at Malvern in 1967
  • 12 photographs from the 1975 Knebworth festival
  • A 330 page book on the backstage stories and problems promoting a decade of festivals
  • 6 CDs and 2 DVDs, which they give as a gift with the set and includes the following:
    • 1 x 75 mins CD of Pink Floyd live at Bath, including their premiere of Atom Heart Mother with full choir. Before the Bath Festival it was known as The Amazing Pudding
    • An improved re-mastered 1975 Pink Floyd Knebworth 2 CD set
    • And a choice of three CDs from the following:
      • A 3 CD set live from the 1970 Bath Festival with Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Johnny Winter, Jefferson Airplane, Frank Zappa, Steppenwolf, Santana, The Byrds, Canned Heat, John Mayall, Donovan, Hot Tuna, Country Joe
      • 1975 Steve Miller 1CD
      • 1975 Captain Beefheart. 1CD
      • 1975 Roy Harper 1 CD
      • 1978 Genesis 2CDs
  • A 50 mins DVD of various Knebworth festivals between 1974 – 1979, including Genesis with interviews and the sound check, The Rolling Stones, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Led Zeppelin
  • A DVD from Lincoln 1971 with Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee sitting in the back of the limo on the way to Lincoln being interviewed by the BBC and finishing off by giving an impromptu concert. Also on the DVD James Taylor, Tom Paxton, etc.
  • A 27 minute long DVD of Pink Floyd performing Atom Heart Mother at the 1970 Bath Festival. Although the quality isn't too good, it is still very viewable and the sound is good. For those frustrated by the tiny, unwatchable clips in the Classic Rock productions DVD that came out last year, this DVD should take away some of the frustration felt by purchasers of that release.
For further details please email This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or telephone 01954 268088 (+44-1954-268088 from outside the UK). They only have a few of these special sets left, so if you are interested you'd better act quickly!

Wendy Bannister told us that she thought that they had sold out of the limited edition 1975 Hipgnosis bicycle parts poster - shown to the right - that they were selling. However, they have just discovered they have one left and have decided to offer this very last poster as a prize on Brain Damage - along with one of the hand-numbered limited edition of 200 combined sets! Quite a prize...

To enter the competition, and win this very special prize, you need to answer the following questions correctly:

  1. What date did Pink Floyd perform their Dark Side Of The Moon show there?
  2. What county in England is Knebworth House in?
  3. How much (not including shipping) are the two Floyd t-shirts currently available from the Bannister's website, RockMusicMemorabilia.com?
and then email your answers, together with your postal address, to: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it with the subject line of "Knebworth contest", by 11:59pm (UK time) on October 30th. Please note that no correspondence will be entered into, and that the competition mailbox is unmonitored - entries will be checked on October 31st, a winner picked at random by an independent party, and the winner announced here shortly after.

The very best of luck to you all...and thanks to Wendy Bannister for the great prize!

NOTE: COMPETITION NOW CLOSED AND THE WINNER IS: Sofie Axelsson, Västerås, in Sweden. Well done Sofie, and commisserations to those who didn't win this time around. The box set can still be ordered if you hurry!
