With David Gilmour's new album, On An Island, just a week and a half
away (it hits the stores on March 6th in the UK and Europe, and March
7th in the US), we have an interesting update on the sneak preview of
the complete album, that we told you about last week.

Canadian radio station Chez 106
FM, based in Ottawa, have announced that they are airing the album
premiere on Saturday, March 4th, at 8am (which is 1pm GMT). To talk
about the album will be their guest - David Gilmour himself! He will be
reflecting on the new album, last summer's Live8 reunion, and the
possibilities for a fully-fledged reunion of Pink Floyd.
They will be repeating this
complete run-through of David's latest work, and the interview, on
Sunday, March 5th, at 8pm (1am GMT). Whilst no substitute for hearing
the album on CD or vinyl, it will give you a chance to give it a hear a
couple of days early, and with David's own comments included, makes it
a "must hear".
The radio station streams their programming on the web, via CHEZ106.com. You need to register yourself into their VIP club, but this is free of charge - and you can sign up from any country, too.
UPDATE: The Canadian “On An Island” premiere will also air on Classic Rock Q107 in Toronto, on Monday, March 6th at 9pm. The interview was conducted by Jeff Woods, who hosts The Legends of Classic Rock,
on David's houseboat studio Astoria and we hear it is great stuff. Our
thanks to Andrew Burns, who works with Jeff and co-writes the Legends
of Classic Rock with him, for getting in touch!
Also, our thanks to Brent Ingalls for his help in bringing the initial info to you.
In other news, the first single
from the album, the title track in full and special edited versions, is
now available to order online. Use these special links to secure your
copy:
US/International, UK/Europe, Canada, France or Germany.
The album itself can now be ordered for delivery upon release, through these special links: US/International, UK/Europe, Canada, France or Germany.
And finally, we know that a
number of you will also want to buy the vinyl edition (or indeed,
instead of the CD version!). Here's the links you need for this
edition, which will be in a specially designed gatefold sleeve: Amazon UK, France, or Germany.
