Announced this evening by Columbia Records is a special edition of David Gilmour's On An Island. The album was originally released earlier this year, on March 6th (David's birthday).

Hitting the shelves on November 20th in the UK/Europe, and November 21st in the US/Canada (other regions dates to be confirmed), the "expanded deluxe edition" features a bonus DVD of live performances, alongside the regular CD of the album itself.

The DVD, only available in this edition, features the Pink Floyd guitarist's April 2006 AOL Sessions in New York, in six mesmerizing tracks: "On An Island," "This Heaven," "Smile," "Take A Breath," "High Hopes," and "Comfortably Numb."

The DVD also premieres a rare new take (Abbey Road Session August 2006) on Syd Barrett's "Astronomy Domine" (from Pink Floyd's 1967 debut album, "The Piper At The Gates of Dawn.")

On its original release, On An Island (the first CarbonNeutral® CD to be released by Columbia Records), debuted at #1 in UK and #1 on European Billboard Charts. The album also debuted #6 on the U.S. Billboard Top 200 best-selling albums chart giving the artist his first American Top 10 honours outside his work with Pink Floyd.

We should have ordering information for this special edition soon. Check back here for more details soon...
