We have some great news for David
Gilmour fans this morning - David has added two new concerts to the
tour, both of which are in the UK, and we have details of extra US
tickets going on sale.
David will be at Manchester’s
Bridgewater Hall on Friday 26th May and at Glasgow’s Clyde Auditorium
on Saturday 27th May. Tickets for these shows go on sale on Friday 13th
January, so we wish you the best of luck in getting tickets (in spite
of the ominous date).
His website - DavidGilmour.com
will be offering advance ticket booking for 250 pairs of tickets for
each of these shows, in the same way as was done for the London
concerts. If you are not one of the lucky 250, don't worry - tickets
will go on sale through the venue's box offices in due course. David's
website plans to publish full details of how to get tickets on Monday
9th January - but it is worth checking back there regularly in case the
details are posted earlier.
Please note that they have
announced that there are now NO PLANS TO ADD FURTHER SHOWS in any
country. They also state that these additions conclude David’s 2006
tour schedule. Please DON'T email us to ask about any further rumoured
shows that you might have heard about - thanks!
These additional venues look very
interesting. Both are recently built... Manchester's Bridgewater Hall
is a £42million state-of-the-art venue, holding 1,875 people. Glasgow's
Clyde Auditorium is part of the SECC, looks like an armadillo, and
holds 3,000. Both have been designed with acoustics in mind so should
be interesting places for David to play. The Glasgow show will also
mark David's first show in Scotland since 1974!
Turning now to the extra US tickets,
we are pleased to let you know that more tickets are to go on sale for
all of David’s North American gigs. That’s each show in New York,
Toronto, Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles. These tickets go on
sale on Saturday 14th January at 12noon local time, and will sell out
quickly, so be prepared for the scramble.
Visit Ticketmaster at www.ticketmaster.com/artist/769001/
for details on how to book your preferred show online. Please note that
there’s no internet presale (please ignore the TicketMaster mention of
‘davidgilmour.com’ - it’s not relevant), no fan club to join and no
promotional codes to request. Again, good luck getting tickets for
these shows...
