With the imminent release of his new album "On An Island", David Gilmour's presence is being felt across the world's airwaves, with a number of interviews and features coming up.

We have already mentioned David's appearance on March 2nd, on BBC Radio 4's Front Row, and the BBC Radio 2 concert recording on March 7th (to be aired on a future date).

He is also due to appear on the US rock radio call-in show "Rockline" on March 8th, taking calls with US fans. More details of the stations which carry the syndicated show can be found at Rockline.com. As we mentioned last week, Rockline are also repeating their look at The Wall on February 22nd.

Not content with this, the radio show "In The Studio", hosted by Redbeard, will spotlight the album on March 13th. Check your local (US) radio station for scheduling details, as there is no central website for "In The Studio", or The Album Network who produce the programme.

Looking back to Friday, a number of Pink Floyd fans managed to get the message across to BBC Radio 2 that "On An Island" deserved to be heard by the nation! Richard Allison, standing in for Steve Wright, played the single edit and asked for people's views. Deluged with texts and emails, he was forced to play it again within the space of just 90 minutes - a fairly unprecidented move!

If you want to hear the show, then visit the BBC Radio 2 website, click on the LISTEN AGAIN link, and select last Friday's 'Steve Wright in the Afternoon' show. You want 39 minutes for the first play and two hours and six minutes for the second.

Johnnie Walker will be playing "On An Island" on his show this evening, beginning at 5:05pm, where details of the special BBC concert in London will also be revealed.

In the meantime, why not contact your local (or indeed national!) radio station and request that they play the song? Enough pressure, and they will play the full album version!

Our thanks to Terrence Reardon, Anil Prasad and Ben Dobie for their help with this info.

If you wish to order the album from Amazon, for delivery upon release, you can do so through these special links: US/International, UK/Europe, Canada, France or Germany.

We know that a number of you will also want to buy the vinyl edition (or indeed, instead of the CD version!). Here's the links you need for this edition, which will be in a specially designed gatefold sleeve: Amazon UK, France, or Germany.
