Yesterday afternoon saw the filming, for broadcast last night, of David Gilmour's appearance on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno", one of the more popular shows on NBC television in the US.

Shot on a warm, sunny afternoon in the Burbank area of Los Angeles, it saw David and his excellent band running through a four and a half minute version of the title track from David's new album, "On An Island". Accompanied by David Crosby and Graham Nash on backing vocals, it was a nice performance, albeit with the final guitar solo cut extremely short.

To air during the end titles was the Pink Floyd classic, Wish You Were Here. Cut rather shot on transmission (in other words, excluded altogether!), the full, four minute version can nevertheless be seen on demand, along with the other track played, over at this link at www.NBC.com. To remind our European friends, CNBC Europe air this show, this coming Tuesday.

In a nice gesture, the majority of the audience were fans, having been successful in a ticket giveaway organised by DavidGilmour.com. This made for a nice, enthusiastic crowd, making a change from the normally disinterested audiences you see for such televised events.

As a reminder, today sees the AOL Music site updated with the performance that David did especially for them - which consists of On An Island, This Heaven, Take A Breath, Smile, High Hopes and Comfortably Numb. Definitely not to be missed, especially if you've not been fortunate enough to see him live.

Tickets for David's Big Screen Concerts "One Night Only" show on May 16th go on sale today. This will be a special version of the BBC recording from London's Mermaid Theatre, on March 7th, tweaked by director David Mallet. It will be shown at Regal Cinemas across the US - check with your local Regal for details - and contrary to the information we were given previously, it will ONLY be on one night - and not shown between May 15th-30th. Apologies for any confusion - the information we had was from an excellent source, and we passed it on in good faith.
