Details are now emerging of a
couple of special editions of David Gilmour's new album, On An Island,
which hits the stores on March 6th in the UK and Europe, and March 7th
in the US.

The editions, which appear to be
coming out only in Europe, consist of the album on a limited 2LP vinyl
set, and a limited edition 2 CD set.
These are to be available
alongside the regular single disc edition.
Whilst we are yet to see official
information on what the expanded edition contains, we understand that
it is alternate/demo versions of some of the tracks that appear on the
album proper.
The vinyl LP is expected to only contain the album
itself, without additional tracks.
We don't yet know how limited
these two editions will be, but suspect that they won't be available
for too long.
Obviously, once we know exactly what is on them, we will
let you know the full details, but thought you'd like to know this
latest tidbit of information!
UPDATE: WE NOW KNOW THAT THIS
INFORMATION, SOURCED FROM A NUMBER OF RETAILERS AND DISTRIBUTORS, IS
INCORRECT. There is ONLY going to be the CD and the vinyl LP released...
UPDATED ORDERING INFORMATION: If you wish to order the album from Amazon, for delivery upon release, you can do so through these special links: US/International, UK/Europe, Canada, France or Germany.
We know that a number of you will
also want to buy the vinyl edition (or indeed, instead of the CD
version!). Here's the links you need for this edition, which will be in
a specially designed gatefold sleeve: Amazon UK, France, or Germany.
