Two bits of news today relating to David Gilmour's new album, On An Island, which hits the stores on March 6th in the UK and Europe, and March 7th in the US.

First, BBC Radio 2, the UK's most-listened to radio station, has confirmed that the 'On An Island' album will be 'Album Of The Week' in its release week, commencing Monday 6th March. They are certain to feature the album strongly, so worth tuning in to the station.

BBC Radio 2's playlist has also added the single of 'On An Island', for the week commencing Sunday 12th February.

A commercial version of the single will be available as a 2-track CD single (including the 4'40" edit as well as the 6'50" album version), in stores in the UK on March 6th to coincide with the album release.

If we hear of a release of this outside the UK, we will let you know.

If you wish to order the album from Amazon, for delivery upon release, you can do so through these special links: US/International, UK/Europe, Canada, France or Germany.

We know that a number of you will also want to buy the vinyl edition (or indeed, instead of the CD version!). Here's the links you need for this edition, which will be in a specially designed gatefold sleeve: Amazon UK, France, or Germany.
