With the imminent release of David Gilmour's "Remember That Night - Live At The Royal Albert Hall" DVD, the radio and TV schedules are getting ready to give listeners/viewers a feast of Floydy
goodness!
We have details of UK radio and TV broadcasts, and also a North American Pink Floyd TV evening, for you...
First, tomorrow night (Thursday 6th) finds BBC Radio 2 broadcasting a special show between 8pm and 10pm, featuring Stuart Maconie and Mark Radcliffe reporting from the DVD launch in London,
including the Q&A session with David. You can tune in using DAB or FM radios, Virgin Media cable,
Sky satellite, Freeview, or online across the world via www.bbc.co.uk.
BBC1 TV in the UK (and viewable via satellite across Europe) are showing an hour of highlights from the recordings made of David Gilmour, his band, and special guests, live at London's Royal Albert Hall. The footage will air on Saturday (September 8th) between 11pm and midnight.
Turning now to North America, those with access to VH1 Classic should tune in on September 15th (the date of the US/Canada live satellite link-up in movie theatres). The music TV channel has a feast of Floyd from 5pm until midnight, with the following programmes:
5:00 PM The Pink Floyd & Syd Barrett Story
6:00 PM Classic Albums - The Dark Side Of The Moon
7:00 PM David Gilmour Documentary [we have no idea what exactly this will be!]
8:00 PM Pink Floyd: The Wall
10:00 PM Pink Floyd: The Wall
Our thanks to Robert Perry for the tip-off.
Of course, many of you will already have placed your orders for the full, 2-DVD set (which looks to be a cracker!) that is just a couple of weeks away. For those who are still wavering, AOL Music
& Spinner have posted a great looking new taster for the DVD, which can be viewed here.
