Last night (Saturday, December 13th), David Gilmour was amongst the guest performers to join Bombay Bicycle Club onstage at London's iconic Earls Court. The concert was the last ever gig to take place at the much-loved venue before it is demolished and the land redeveloped into housing and retail.

In his segment, almost half-way into the concert, Gilmour played lap steel guitar on the London band's own song 'Rinse Me Down', before he picked up an acoustic guitar and sang Pink Floyd's 'Wish You Were Here', much to the delight of the packed-out crowd.

Gilmour was introduced onto the stage by Bombay Bicycle Club guitarist Jamie MacColl. "This man gave me my first guitar and was one of the first people to play this venue and by my count has played here more than 27 times," he commented. Pink Floyd first played Earls Court in 1973 (the first year concerts were held in the venue), performing The Dark Side Of The Moon, and returned many times, concluding the 1994 Division Bell tour with a string of dates with proceeds going to a range of charities.
