Last week, we reported that Pink Floyd's David Gilmour took part in a special concert held at London's legendary Abbey Road Studios, to record a celebration of 50 years of rock'n'roll.
With thanks to David's office, we now have more detail on this one-off performance, that will be seeing the light of day during 2005.
David's part of the show on December 3rd was a performance of "Don't" accompanied by Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings. The concert, helmed by Scotty Moore, guitarist for Elvis Presley for the recording of That's Alright, Mama, which has been taken as the official starting point of rock'n'roll, in 1954, included Ringo Starr (The Beatles), Keith Richards, Ron Wood and Bill Wyman (the Rolling Stones), Mark Knopfler, and the aforementioned Mr Gilmour. The show was recorded in high definition for release on DVD and CD during 2005.
We're currently gathering more information what was played by whom, and more detail on the releases next year. As and when we have more for you, we'll let you know.
