David Gilmour - Live 2006 |
The news yesterday was a little sketchy on a couple of details, unfortunately, but with the update of www.DavidGilmour.com this afternoon (UK time), all has become clear!
David will be touring in Spring
2006, with his 'On An Island Tour', the title coming from Gilmour’s new
solo album which is released on 6 March 2006 in the UK and Europe, and
7 March in the US/Canada.
Looking first at the additional London show,
you can now also catch David at the Royal Albert Hall on 31st May. As
before, 300 pairs of tickets were made available to pre-order for the
London shows, by registering details on www.davidgilmour.com.
The lucky winners of these latest tickets will be notified by email by
10am tomorrow morning. Registration of your details is still open, at
time of writing this. Apologies for not being able to give you advance
notice of this!
Tickets for this additional show will go on sale through the Royal Albert Hall box office on (+44) (0)20 7589 8212, via www.royalalberthall.com, or Seetickets on (+44) (0)871 230 0333 or www.seetickets.com.

ground transportation to and from concert, welcome reception, souvenir
item and 24-hour on-site host.
If the European shows are
anything to go by, tickets for these new shows will sell incredibly
quickly - act now to secure tickets for the show(s) of your choice!
Finally, we have news of equipment that David may
be using on stage, during the shows, if reports coming through are
correct. We've had emails from some of our Finnish friends, passing on
a story in the country's press
that "Pink Floyd has ordered seven fogscreens from a Finnish company."
Brian Forth, the sales representative for America of FogScreen Inc.,
said that they were "planning to use them to enhance their concerts".
The technology behind the screens
is quite interesting, and gives a nice effect. More details can be
found at various sites, not least fogscreen.com.
We would point out that, if there is any truth in this story, the
company can only be referring to David's concerts, as there are NO
plans currently for any Pink Floyd shows!
Our thanks to Pekka Torvinen and Sami Lehtinen for their help in this story.
