In 1975, David Gilmour took time out from his Pink Floyd duties to guest on a track off David Courtney's album, First Day. The track itself, When Your Life Is Your Own, is now being released on a new album appearing on the Angel Air label, on June 11th. The album - The Show Must Go On - collects together some of his hits from yesteryear and it also includes guest appearances by Paul McCartney and Adam Faith.
Whilst not necessarily a household name, Courtney is an internationally acclaimed songwriter and record producer having over the past 35 years achieved Platinum, Gold and Silver discs representing the millions of records he has sold worldwide as well as receiving ASCAP awards and a Grammy nomination. Other artists he has worked with include Roger Daltrey, Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Gene Pitney and Ritchie Blackmore.
The album can now be pre-ordered through Amazon UK, Amazon.com (US), or Amazon Canada. Other Amazon stores also have this listed but as an expensive import, whereas it would be cheaper to use one of the above, and you'll probably still pay less even after shipping costs.
