The new issue, dated June 2003, of the UK's Uncut magazine was published today, and it includes much to excite the Floyd fan!
Apart from the lovely, unusual picture of the band on the cover, the other first thing spotted is the free CD of psychedelic classics. Now, some of the songs included are better than others, but it is notable for including Syd performing "Octopus". The eighteen track CD has had a redesign since the original announcement (which we posted a month ago) and is now called "Acid Daze". Other artists on it include The Nice, The Small Faces, Kevin Ayers, The Move, T Rex, Arthur Brown and The Purple Gang with the legendary "Granny Takes A Trip".
The magazine itself features large interviews with each of the members of Pink Floyd, conducted separately. Apart from the cover picture, and a nice shot on the index page, it also has a whopping twenty three pages of new interviews and pictures of Roger, David, Rick and Nick.
It also has a somewhat scathing "review" of a 1980 Earl's Court Wall show, by Alan Jones. The same Alan Jones that Roger refers to on stage, during one of those shows, for his less than flattering review in the Melody Maker at the time of the shows!
Overall, the magazine is a definite recommendation - snap it up if you can.
