Saturday night saw two great BBC productions - firstly, the History of Psychedelia documentary (part 1) which had one or two nice surprises in it, including an interview with Roger Waters.
The BIG event was the fifty minute TV documentary, "Classic Albums" which covered DSOTM. Every track was profiled from its beginnings through its creation, with interviews conducted with all four members of the band, together with Chris Thomas (mix supervisor) and Alan Parsons, original engineer.
With the exception of Nick, the rest of the band all recreated key segments of the songs as solo pieces, and also we got to see some GREAT footage, such as "The Travel Section" (On The Run) performed live in Brighton 1972 (colour footage of this!!!). With demo's of some of the songs also played, it really was a fantastic production. Nothing from the EPK was shown; it is not yet known if this will be what the forthcoming DVD will offer. A great show - well done, BBC!
