On this coming Friday, May 18th, Still On The Run: The Jeff Beck Story gets a worldwide release via Eagle Rock Entertainment, on DVD and Blu-ray.
Still On The Run: The Jeff Beck Story documents the history of a musical maverick and true innovator, delving below the surface to shed light on the circumstances, inspiration and technicality behind the man and his music. The film features extensive interviews with Jeff both at home and in his workshop, as well as interviews with Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Rod Stewart, David Gilmour, Ronnie Wood, Slash, Jan Hammer, Joe Perry, Beth Hart and many more.
Beck’s childhood saw him surrounded by music; from the endlessly playing radio, to his homemade guitar and the countless hours he spent poring over records and playing music with his friend, Jimmy Page. "I didn't have to think about taking up guitar, I just wanted to pour my feelings into it" said Jeff.
The acclaimed documentary reveals the true story of the guitar player who builds hot rods and captures the excitement and anecdotes of those who have worked alongside him. Jeff Beck has always been a risk taker, on an endless quest for fresh and challenging new sounds. Bending notes and filtering a myriad of musical inspirations, he will continue to inspire fans and musicians alike by giving voice to his guitar in the most unexpected ways.

The new issue of the UK's Prog Magazine (issue 87) is published on Thursday (May 10th), and includes a feature on Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets amongst its pages.
The article has Nick talking at length about this newly formed band, the reasons for exploring this endeavour, and what the future might bring for the band. He also discusses the sort of material that the band will be playing in the upcoming London shows (all four of which sold out very quickly), and what sort of material they will be steering clear of - and why.
Whilst the article leads with the well known shot of the Floyd wrapped in pink sheets, there IS a picture of "the Saucers" in action during a showcase from a few months ago, giving you a first look at the band, performing at a rehearsal venue in London.
Elsewhere in the magazine, there's a major piece on Marillion's Brave album, with every band member interviewed, and a look at Procol Harum amongst a number of other artists. There's also a cover-mounted CD to listen to whilst you are reading...
You can purchase Prog Magazine, either as single issues or as a subscription, in the UK and also internationally through this direct link. Prog is also available on iPad, Google Play, Kindle and Nook.

Some great news for our friends in Mexico - two additional Mexican shows for the Roger Waters 2018 Us + Them tour have been added, with tickets going on sale next week, on Wednesday, May 9th, via the links shown below.
One of the shows, in Monterrey, now means the (current) final concert of the tour, this year, is on December 9th.
Here are the newly announced dates:
Dedicated pages for each newly announced show on the tour are now live, joining the show pages already shown in the 2018 Roger Waters tour area. If any further dates on the European/South American/Mexican tour is announced, a page for each concert will be in place: the location to find out information on each show, and to see, once the concert has taken place, pictures, video and commentary. We can't do this without your help: if you are attending ANY of the shows on the tour

Just published is the latest issue (number 31 - cover date April 2018) of the Pink Floyd fanzine "Heyou" run by our friends over at the Italian website of the same name. The 52-page dual language magazine (in Italian and English), which is published every six months or so, catches up with things in the Floyd world.
The magazine has as its major focus The Pink Floyd Exhibition: Their Mortal Remains, in both its London AND Rome iterations. The explanation of the London staging is written by a contributor to the magazine, and guides you around the exhibition space. One tiny, glaring error is that the initial letter written by Syd, is credited in the article to Roger Waters, but other than that, it gives a good guide to the event. The Rome rundown is a reprint of an article from the Huffington Post, so doesn't describe the staging in much detail.
Elsewhere there is a large article on the 101-year-old Vera Lynn, best known as 'the force's sweetheart' in the Second World War, still a major force in the music world. Her latest album, Vera Lynn 100, has been nominated for a Classic Brit Award, and she is also up for female artist of the year in those awards. There's also a reprint of an interview with Gavin Elder, director of David Gilmour Live At Pompeii from the Brooklyn Vegan, a review of Roger Waters in Brisbane, Australia from the Courier-Mail, and a look at the Floydseum-organised AyseDeniz Gokcin show in Venice last November.
As with most issues of Heyou, there's a chronological look at things that have happened in the last few months in the news pages, ranging from various magazines published with Floyd content, to re-issues, books published, and more.
More details of the Heyou fanzine can be found at www.heyou.it/fsubscrbd.html, where you can get individual copies, and subscription enquiries (four issues costing 30 euros within Europe, and 40 euros outside Europe) should go to

The release of Pink Floyd's 1967 debut album, The Piper At The Gates of Dawn, on vinyl for Record Store Day 2018 proved predictably popular. With a new mono 2018 remaster by James Guthrie, Joel Plante and Bernie Grundman, and remastered from the original 1967 mono mix, the release is the latest from Pink Floyd Records. The edition re-entered the UK album charts, going straight in at number 33 (our thanks to Malcolm Walker for tipping us off about this).
The limited-edition release is on premium 12" 180-gram black vinyl, and comes paired with an exclusive poster (540 x 388mm on art paper), as well as a foil blocked outer wallet. This was to differentiate the mono version for buyers; Aubrey Powell of Hipgnosis, with Peter Curzon, created this additional packaging in the form of a card envelope which features a psychedelic design, including a gold embossed version of the graphic by Syd Barrett which also features on the reverse of the original mono LP.
It's a lovely package, and great to see the care and attention it got. On a personal note, I heard a lot of non-Floyd fans in my local record shop all commenting on how great it looked, as we were queued up to make our own RSD purchases.
The package also includes gold and black labels, gold sticker, and a poster featuring the original photograph (taken by the late Colin Prime in Ruskin Park, South London) that inspired Syd’s graphic.
For those who missed out on Record Store Day itself, selected participating retailers still have very limited stock left of this album (and other RSD releases), or alternatively, if you wish to avoid the inflated prices on eBay for this (although these are now normalising to more acceptable levels) it is being offered for sale by most Amazon stores. It's worth shopping around as they don't have consistent pricing for this, so you might find you can save a bit of money going to another 'branch' of Amazon. Here are the direct links: Amazon UK, Amazon Canada, Amazon France, Amazon Germany, Amazon Spain and Amazon Italy.
