A new book, "Pink Floyd's The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn" by John Cavanagh, is being published by Continuum in the US on September 15th, 2003, and available in the rest of the world after November 2003.

It is part of their 33 1/3 series of books, which focus on one album, dispenses "with the standard biographical background... and cuts to the heart of the music on [the] album". We shall have more details of this release closer to publication, and will naturally keep you in the picture.

The new issue (April '03) of the UK's "Uncut" music magazine, out today, features a brief question and answer session with David Gilmour and Richard Wright to accompany their DSoTM SACD review.

Also, next month's issue (out on May 1st) is a Pink Floyd special, with a "psychedelic" CD on the front entitled "Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun" to listen to whilst reading their 30th Anniversary coverage...

Syd's solo albums "Barrett" and "The Madcap Laughs" have been reissued on CD, on the Harvest label, as a double CD set. Under the "Double Original" banner, this was released on March 17th, and has been set as a budget priced release. Expect to pay around the £11 mark in the UK, with the release similarly priced in Europe.

The Dutch TV documentary screened this evening on Syd Barrett, as noted in our news pages last month, was a showing of the BBC documentary, which has been released as "The Pink Floyd And Syd Barrett Story" (reviewed elsewhere on this site).
