It is worth noting that the six shows at Rome's Circus Maximus are the entirety of his Italy (and indeed, European) performances this time around. We suspect there could be dates elsewhere announced in due course.

Tickets will go on general sale through this link at Ticketone.it, on May 17th. From May 15th at 9am until May 16th at 11:59pm, there will also be a Virgin Radio, and Sonyo, presale, as well as a presale for those who have preordered Luck and Strange from the official David Gilmour Italian Album Store. We are sure that demand will be high for these special concerts.

WARNING - SPOILERS AHEAD!

Do not read on if you don't want surprises to be spoilt, regarding what the band played!

Night one of the tour, and night one in the Eternal City, Rome, in Italy. Two months ago, Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets played the city (albeit in the different venue), and now David Gilmour and his band had arrived for the first proper Luck and Strange show. Two dress rehearsal shows had taken place a week before, in Brighton, England, but this outdoor concert in a location that used to see chariot racing was the proper beginning to proceedings. Brighton saw 1,500 per show (as the main arena floor was taken up by equipment, flight cases etc.), and Rome will have 18,000 in each night's audience!

The set list experienced in Brighton was unchanged for Rome, and we suspect it will be pretty much cast in stone for the rest of the dates. However, David has in the past added in the odd song, and made the occasional change, so never say never! There was an interesting addition during High Hopes but we won't spoil that for you yet!

Night one in Rome was the exact same set list as Brighton. Only thing different was David messed up on the start of Coming Back To Life and just started singing instead of the intro guitar. He caught himself, stopped, apologised and restarted. We were 9th row stage left.
