A return for David to the legendary Hollywood Bowl for his limited run of 2024 concerts.

Tickets for this concert go on sale May 17th at 10am local through this link at Ticketmaster. We are sure that demand will be high for these special concerts.

Night seventeen of the tour, which remains in Los Angeles, and the second of three nights in at the iconic Hollywood Bowl.

Reports are that the performance throughout was yet again superb, and proved an audio and visual treat! A Great Day For Freedom was again dropped for this show (it HAD been performed at the Intuit Dome) - would this be a permanent drop, or just temporary? Could it to keep the show length down, as it is an outdoor venue which might have a curfew?

On September 19, 1987 I saw Pink Floyd for the very first time at JFK stadium in Philadelphia. It was misting with rain and the first song played was Echoes. I was hooked for the next 37 years traveling around the USA and Europe to see Pink Floyd then David Gilmour.

I was fortunate enough to see the great man perform over 30 times including Pompeii and 4 on this tour alone - the first test show in Brighton, opening night in Rome, the next to last night at RAH, and tonight at Hollywood Bowl.

Barring a miracle that David announces a second leg for the tour for next year, this was the final time I’ll ever see him so tonight was bitter sweet.

It was a cold night with it being 15 degrees at the start of the show and down to 12 by the end. As such, David’s voice - especially in the first half was extremely rough. By far the worst I’ve ever heard. The acoustics in the Hollywood Bowl are spectacular so it was very noticeable. At the intermission I’m guessing David got some treatment for his throat and probably put on more clothes so there was significant improvement over the first half but still nowhere as good as RAH.

The set list was the same but there were significantly more lasers than Rome. Spectacular light show, spectacular music. I would gladly pay to hear an off voice Gilmour any day as his guitar work is still second to none.

If you can make it to MSG, you should have great vocals as it’s inside and warm.

My second night at the Hollywood Bowl and even colder than the previous night. I agree with the previous reviewer that Gilmour’s voice wasn’t so great in the first half and picked up in the second. I was sitting in the back row centre as far back a ticket as you could buy for the Bowl and up the back has its own unique atmosphere! There is a small bar behind the back row and people just buy a drink and stand the whole night watching the show rather than being in their seats.

To add to the night it was game 6 of LA Dodgers vs New York Yankees and at intermission the crowd erupted as the Dodgers win the series. The keyboardist Greg Phillinganes even got the microphone at the end of the show after Gilmour had thanked the audience to say "Go Dodgers". The crowd was doubly happy leaving the Bowl.

The laser lights look like they are best enjoyed head on, they were superb tonight and went all the way to the back of the bowl so you never felt you were too far away, last night from a vantage point to the side of the Bowl the lights seemed to miss you. The sound really swirled tonight and went in and out as there didn’t seem to be any speakers other than on the stage and around the shell of the Bowl, perhaps that is the policy of the Bowl, so I am looking forward to the indoor shows in New York to rectify that minor issue. The seat was only $75, worth double that..
