Capacity: 19,356 Concert starts: 8pm Address of venue: 600 N 1st Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55403, United States. MAP Website: www.targetcenter.com COMMENTS Roger's new tour - THIS IS NOT A DRILL - has now been announced, and is a new production. As when his previous tour (Us + Them) was announced, details of what this new show will entail are brief; we suspect a new set list, and new presentation, and the image created to publicise the tour does note that the show will be "live in the round" - a departure from Roger's previous shows. Those who have attended - or have seen pictures/video of - Roger's previous tours, will know just how spectacular and moving this new production is likely to be, and how it is a show you really shouldn't miss! From comments Roger has made in recent interviews, it could be his final tour... For the regular sale of tickets, which starts on FRIDAY, JANUARY 31st at 10am (local time), CLICK HERE. UPDATE: Due to the COVID-19/Coronavirus pandemic, this show has been postponed from its original date in 2020. Roger said about the cancellations: "Bummer, but if it saves one life, it's worth it." Ticketholders are advised to hold onto their original tickets and await further information.

Initial reports are that the show was quite an experience, but as always, we value your first hand views on all the concerts - so if you went, please let us know your thoughts!
CONCERT REVIEW and PICTURES by BD CONTRIBUTOR, Danny Vacek
I must have really wanted to see Roger Waters because, after being let down a few times when the place was first opened 30 years ago, I stopped going to Minneapolis' Target Center to hear music. The medium-sized stadium is a splendid basketball arena, but no where in the Midwest is worse than Target Center for sound. (Hint: Across the river, the Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul is a perfectly marvelous venue for concerts.)
We were warned at the ticket office to be on time, because music would begin promptly. But the show started 30 minutes late. The twenty-minute intermission, cut short to make up for the delay, was unfortunate (since that's when the establishment stops serving adult refreshment). The second set seemed rushed.
I enjoyed Crazy Diamond and Sheep.
Music: Very Good
Sound At Target Center Venue: Extremely Poor
Spectacle: A Little Bit Boring, Or Worse, Distracting
Theater-In-The-Round: Two-Dimensional (Focused On The Floor-Level Seats Mostly)
Roger Waters: And 9 other, extremely talented artists on stage with him, but they weren't introduced. He thanked the road crew. (And pointed out the backing vocalists, by first-name-only, saying "Aren't they pretty?")
Overall Impression: I was a little bit disappointed, even though I didn't have very high expectations, already knowing in advance that Target Center isn't a great place for music.
Strangely, for an event that was supposedly sold out, I'd estimate Target Center was about one half full. I think I might've picked up very cheap lower-level tickets from someone with a sign out on the sidewalk, before the show.
Unfortunately, from my past experience, there are no good seats at the Target Center. The place sounds just as terrible whether your seat is a folding chair on the court, or a regular seat on the upper balcony. Imagine putting a sound system into a big metal can.
On the plus-side, it was a very pleasant, and inexpensive, ride to Target Center on the light rail train. Coming home, we met someone who saw the show.
From the level of the stage, Roger Waters' cross-shaped screen prop looks fantastic! Underneath, it all looks much different than it does from above. There you can see through, to view the whole stage, as well.
Roger's new song, about the kind of things only happen at local bars, seemed to encourage the audience to leave and seek such places.
Across the street from Target Center, earlier in the evening, the two of us had lovely meals and drinks at the local, historic Gluek's pub. Good beers, reasonable prices. But Minnesota's community stadium rules require event centers to stop serving their $14 canned beers as soon as intermission ends. That tends to make nearly any concert empty out, before the end.
YOUR HELP NEEDED! We want to cover Roger's concerts the best we can, to share the experience with everyone, especially those who won't be able to attend the shows. We'd love to see ANY pictures, tickets scans, reviews, newspaper reports, and anything else you come across for this show - we look forward to hearing from you!
