COMMENTS

The venue is now the Qudos Bank Arena but was formally known as the Acer Arena where Roger has played a few times before, such as 2007, so it will be familiar to him.

Roger on his Us + Them tour:

"We are going to take a new show on the road, the content is very secret," said Roger Waters. "It'll be a mixture of stuff from my long career, stuff from my years with Pink Floyd, some new things. Probably 75% of it will be old material and 25% will be new, but it will be all connected by a general theme. It will be a cool show, I promise you. It'll be spectacular like all my shows have been.”

The announcement notes that "Roger Waters' legendary live performances are renowned as immersive sensory experiences featuring high class, state-of-the-art audio visual production and breathtaking quad sound. This new tour promises to be no exception; following months of meticulous planning and visionary craft, US + Them will inspire crowds with its powerful delivery and take the audience on an unforgettable musical journey."

Night five of the Roger Waters 2018 Us + Them tour concluding the brace of shows in Sydney. The production now heads over to Brisbane.

First, here's a video from the show from Roger's official Facebook page…

We'd love to know from those attending how they felt the concert went. How was the show for you, if you were one of the fortunate ones to attend? Let us know what YOU thought!

CONCERT REVIEW by BD CONTRIBUTOR, Joseph Attalla

I have attended this show twice. The first was on Saturday, September 16th at the Nassau Coliseum, in Long Island, New York, USA. The second was at the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney on Saturday, February 3rd.

There is something significant to highlight on the Sydney show; I wonder if it has ever happened before at any of the Roger's shows over the decades.

As Dave Kilminster started to play the guitar solo at the end of "Comfortably Numb", Mr Waters came down the stage. He walked first to the right aisle shaking hands with the audience, then to the front row while exchanging words with the Sydney siders. He continued just the same with the audience of the left aisle.

Two points that I have been thinking about through the passing week:
1- This is a 180 degrees development in the subject of Roger Waters & the fans. This is precisely 40 years on since the famous - well documented - encounter with a Canadian fan through the Animals tour in 1977.
2-Is this a real contact farewell that Roger wanted to have with the public in a rock concert arena? Would this go down as the last tour of such magnificence & size?

I also thought about: Why in Sydney?

I should say that at the New York Long Island Coliseum, it was a LIVE Rock Concert. Live in terms of the American audience. They were up on their feet through out the Performance. The Sydney show by comparison was a Classical Recital. The Sydney crowd was SO decent and polite. A short applauding at the end of each song. It suited Roger to walk to the crowd and talk.

YOUR HELP NEEDED! We want to cover Roger's concerts the best we can, to share the experience with everyone, especially those who won't be able to attend the shows. We'd love to see ANY pictures, tickets scans, reviews, newspaper reports, and anything else you come across for this show - we look forward to hearing from you!
