Roger's Us + Them tour heads into Europe following the successful 2017 shows in the US and Canada. At the original announcement, the following was revealed:
"We are going to take a new show on the road, the content is very
secret," said Roger Waters. "It'll be a mixture of stuff from my long
career, stuff from my years with Pink Floyd, some new things. Probably
75% of it will be old material and 25% will be new, but it will be all
connected by a general theme. It will be a cool show, I promise you.
It'll be spectacular like all my shows have been.”
The announcement notes that "Roger Waters' legendary live performances
are renowned as immersive sensory experiences featuring high class,
state-of-the-art audio visual production and breathtaking quad sound.
This new tour promises to be no exception; following months of
meticulous planning and visionary craft, US + Them will inspire crowds
with its powerful delivery and take the audience on an unforgettable
musical journey."
Those who have attended - or have seen pictures/video of - the US and Canadian shows, will know just how spectacular and moving this new production is, and how it is a show you really shouldn't miss!

Do not read on if you don't want surprises to be spoilt, regarding what the band played!
For this, the second show in Prague (and as in Bologna), the occasional set change at the end of the show took place - so, instead of Mother, which is performed at most shows, the audience got the trio of songs which conclude Roger's recently released album, Is This The Life We Really Want?
First, here's a video from the show from Roger's official Facebook page…
We'd love to know from those attending how they felt the concert went. How was the show for you, if you were one of the fortunate ones to attend? Let us know what YOU thought!
CONCERT REVIEW by BD CONTRIBUTOR, Vlado Marcinek, and PICTURES by Michal Šimek and Vlasta Mikšík
Another tour and another stop in Prague. Two actually due to high demand. With a carefully chosen setlist covering his Pink Floyd years as well as his solo career, Roger Waters and his band have visited Prague again to please his fans with the gift of live music.
And what a show it was! The sonic quality was superb as always. It's something one cannot appreciate enough I guess. It's so pleasing.
When you see the show and think of the setlist and how it's combined with the visuals you realize how incredibly well the show is constructed. This tour emphasizes what this music was always about more then any tour before. Aiming at political, moral or socials issues all over the globe it grabs your attention, it's calling you to think. Roger has showed us his mastery again by creating a great concept right there on stage.
His latest solo work Is This The Life We Really Want? was the only source of solo material for this tour. And you cannot help but see how well it fits with the rest of the songs. It’s a unique blend.
I cannot and will not omit the political aspect and issues he was pointing at as it was the core message. All visuals projected on the screen behind the stage or on the Battersea power station which emerged surprisingly from the ceiling after the intermission (what an idea!) made perfect sense. Striking and very powerful. And when you see Pigs turned into an anti Trump song you have to admit it looks as if the song was written just about him! Perfect!
Another slight change of meaning happened during the Another Brick In The Wall. More scary and haunted with local kids dressed up in orange suits with black hoods covering their heads. Hoods would be taken down later on as well as orange suits to show black t-shirts with the RESIST sign on it.
The band was just fantastic that is really what I think! Apart from well known and excellent guys Dave Kilminster and Jon Carin, the band was put together from all new faces. They all deserve our respect as they all are masters in their fields. I want to mention drummer Joey Waronker, whose feeling of rhythm is simply remarkable. The same goes with another new face, guitarist Jonathan Wilson who also sang David Gilmour's parts.
Last but not least, sublime singers Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig. Their vocals on The Great Gig In The Sky were incredible! Along with fellow musicians they form the band called Lucius. Go and grab their latest album Nudes in your local store. I'm sure you've never heard so much beauty for a very long time. It's truly wonderful with Roger himself making his appearance on one of the songs as a nice bonus. And maybe they reveal their Million dollar secret to you…
The show ended with Brain Damage/Eclipse and a beautiful giant prism made of lasers followed by encores Mother and of course Comfortably Numb, during which confetti with RESIST! written on it were scattered across the place. Another powerful detail. During the second show he substituted in the Wait For Her suite in place of Mother.
The Us + Them tour will last till the end of this year, finishing in Mexico. So go and buy your tickets when you can. As Roger himself mentioned, this might be his final tour, so don't miss it. It would be better by far to see it than to linger in a lifetime of regret, you know…
One interesting fact: Not sure why, but clearly the devices used by the crew were radiating a certain GPS signal. When my friend was checking on his phone, our location has been shown as being at Sant Jordi stadium south of Barcelona.
MEETING THE BAND by BD CONTRIBUTOR, Vlado Marcinek
The ultimate goal for each true fan is to meet his hero. There is a Pink Floyd fan club in Czech connecting PF fans mainly from Czech and Slovakia, but there are many other nationalities as well.
There is no US and THEM, you understand… With what could be his last tour ever we wanted to do everything we could to welcome Roger and his band in our lovely city of Prague and if possible, meet him in person.
He played two shows here and the first plan was to welcome him at the airport upon his arrival. Unfortunately we missed him as he was driven by car straight from plane's parking area. Hence we went to the arena to enjoy the show and tried our luck the very next day. Waiting outside of the hotel seemed to work for the band members. But Roger was nowhere to be seen.
Guys from fanclub managed to borrow each band member for a minute as they were passing by and they were all very kind to stop for a while and dedicate their precious time to the fans. As the time for the second show approached, they were all taken away by cars to the arena.
This was the moment when Roger's manager came outside and our fanclub ambassador Michal Šimek talked to him. He kindly agreed and invited us to the hotel area where we would form the perfect line, waiting for Roger. Not too long after he came, ready for the show.
Instead of heading straight to the venue he agreed and we were allowed one item and one photo each, which was very generous of him. Being in a very good mood he signed all the stuff and jumped in his car. Probably the most successful one was Michal Šimek who managed to collect the whole band, including Roger, on his programme (pictured)!
As the car was passing the crowd, we waved at him. He rolled down the window and waved back, smiling. Then, when the second gig was over, we tried our luck again at the airport. The band were driven straight to the airport from the venue. Roger again very kindly agreed to dedicate some time to his fans and we gave him a big round of applause.
Hence on behalf of whole Czech Pink Floyd fan club let me express our big thanks to Roger and the band for two great nights and for being so kind to us. That was a day to remember and we really appreciate it! Hope to see you guys around next time!
YOUR HELP NEEDED! We want to cover Roger's concerts the best we can, to share the experience with everyone, especially those who won't be able to attend the shows. We'd love to see ANY pictures, tickets scans, reviews, newspaper reports, and anything else you come across for this show - we look forward to hearing from you!
