David's 2015 tour of Europe stays in Italy for the second of two shows in the country. Another unusual venue - a racecourse! They have started to stage concerts and other events there, and have hopes (it seems) of hosting concerts with up to 30,000 spectators. However, at the moment, capacity seems to be limited to 7,000.
Tickets went on sale Friday, March 6th at 10am UK time, and the DavidGilmourblog.co.uk presale started Wednesday, March 4th for those quick off the mark. For the main sale of tickets, you can use this link: Ticketone.it although please be aware that demand is incredibly high so you might
need to be patient and keep retrying, as they seem to be adding tickets for sale progressively.
UPDATE, MAY 23rd: Just announced by the local organisers in Firenze (Florence), Italy, is the move of a number of summer concerts due to be held at Le Mulina Teatro. Due to poor weather conditions affecting the venue, concerts for a number of artists - running from Limp Bizkit on June 13th, Patti Smith on June 18th, Einstürzende Neubauten on July 7th, right through to David Gilmour on September 15th - have been moved to the nearby Ippodromo del Visarno.
This is sited a few hundred metres from Mulina, and tickets already purchased remain valid for the new venue. The new venue is closer to various public transport hubs so should make travel to/from the venue easier for most. This change of venue has been confirmed on June 4th, despite earlier uncertainty of the definite nature of this amendment.

WARNING - SPOILERS AHEAD!
Do not read on if you don't want surprises to be spoilt, regarding what the band played!
Show three of the tour, with the band and production remaining in Italy, albeit moving (rattled) lock, stock and barrel to the city of Firenze (Florence) for a show at a rather unusual venue - a racecourse! The weather again threatened but in the end, turned out beautiful. Initial reports are that the crowd were on fire again, loving every minute of the show and giving much praise to the new material - especially A Boat Lies Waiting and In Any Tongue, both already feeling like concert classics!
The setlist was broadly the same as hear in Brighton, Pula and Verona, with one exception - the addition of Coming Back To Life, which was a surprise addition into the second half. The album is released on Friday and one does wonder if the shows which follow will then feature a revised set, making more of the album, and performing it in order? All packed up now, the production is heading over to Orange in France, where - yet again - the forecast for the show (another outdoor one) is for rain and storms. Will the weather gods smile of David again? We shall see!
However, back to Firenze. We'd love to know how the concert went. Did you go? Let us know what YOU thought!
