The second night of two in São Paulo, and despite a soggy start to things (with the stage equipment covered up to protect against the elements before the show), it proved another thrilling concert for the crowd. Initial information is very brief but sounds like a great time was had by all. The setlist was unchanged from the previous night - a setlist which was used as the core selection in Europe, with the odd addition of Coming Back To Life, which is yet to receive its South American debut.
We'd love to know in more detail how the concert went. Did you go? Let us know what YOU thought!
CONCERT REVIEW by BD CONTRIBUTOR, TERJE AUKLAND
Night two: in a few words: The best RTL-show ever! I've seen twelve of them. This was the best one. Absolutely everything was on time. All the night the songs flowed from one to another without problems of any kind, and the audience was just
unbelievable. I am sure that David and the band felt they were lifted forward through the whole concert on a wave of warm feelings. And the encore songs: Unbelievable. As were the band, but so was the audience as well.
From a personal view I think the best song is In Any Tongue. A wonderful melody,
strong and emotional lyrics, amazing backing vocals from Bryan Chambers, and an
outstanding guitar play from David. Breathtaking. Really. To me it has a kind of
potential to be a new Comfortably Numb.
One change of the band team. Lucita Jules replaced Louise Clare Marshall. And she did it in a very excellent way.
The set list was at it has been almost for the whole tour. Coming Back To Life has been added to the set list occasionally, we all know, with the song having been played at four shows, but not in Sao Paulo.
The next show for me is Hipodrome, Buenos Aires, before Estadio Santiago de Chile
concluding my tour as well. Thinking of what happened the 11th of September 1973, it will be quite an emotional night for a lot of people, this 20th December, standing at the very same stadium where a lot of people were tortured before being shot down by the military dictator Augosto Pinochet's soldiers. One of the innocent victims was the musician/singer/song writer Victor Jara.
YOUR HELP NEEDED! We want to cover David's concerts the best we can, to share the experience with everyone, especially those who won't be able to attend the shows. We'd love to see ANY pictures, tickets scans, reviews, newspaper reports, and anything else you come across for this show - we look forward to hearing from you!
