Roger's tour of The Wall arrives at the Amsterdam ArenA (yes, the trailing capital A is correct!) and a new venue for the tour - one of many that Roger is trying out for (hopefully) the first time in 2013.

The RogerWaters.com presales have begun, with advance tickets available to those who had registered their interest in particular cities. General sale tickets are being sold through Ticketmaster.nl and other agents (exact dates and outlets can be found via Roger's website). The public sale will also see a limited number of VIP packages made available for each show on the tour. Our thanks to Frans Temme for the ticket scan shown to the right.

YOUR HELP NEEDED! We want to cover Roger's concerts the best we can, to share the experience with everyone, especially those who won't be able to attend the shows. Night twenty-two of the tour, and just five concerts remain. Amsterdam has been a host to Roger for many, many years, from the early Floyd days to his recent solo shows. His 2013 return to the Dam proved just as popular as before, and Roger seemed to enjoy himself too.

Prompt at 20:30 the show started. The Show was even more updated with photos and lighting in comparison with 2011. When working on Pink Floyd’s eleventh studio album ‘The Wall’, Roger Waters imagined building a wall between himself and the audience. Yesterday at his 2013 tour of ‘The Wall’ in Amsterdam, he realized this in a spectacular manner.

Throughout the show, the wall was built and the intense realism of this former symbolism struck me with amazement. The true message of this album was made more clear than ever through unbelievable audiovisual effects and a great performance of Roger Waters, whose Dutch improves with every European tour. Speaking Dutch for a couple of minutes isn’t easy to do when it is not your native language.

Great slidework from Mr. Smith and the band played better than ever before! He reached a dramatic and thrilling climax at the end when the wall was finally tore down, followed by the biggest applause I have ever heard.

For the last upcoming shows, if there are any tickets left: it might be your last chance to see an impressive, good show.

I have just walked through my front door having spent the last few days in Amsterdam. The gig at the ArenA on Sunday was immense. Compared to 2011 when I saw it at the M.E.N this was beyond belief.

I could not believe the level of emotion and passion the production has now been taken to. I, and others around me were choking back the tears at times, but also laughing along with Roger and his amazing sense of humour.

The gig was made incredibly special for me though at one point. This was in the second half of the show, Roger tears his shirt off and throws it in the air. I was actually right on the front barrier, and I caught his shirt. Within seconds a security guy came and demanded it back. My feeble defence was no match to this bruiser so he took it away.

Not all was lost though!

A few minutes later he came over, apologised (saying it was the only one they had...yeah right!!) and thrust one of Roger's guitar plecks into my hand!

I could not believe it. I have seen Roger, David and Pink Floyd all through the years ever since my first gig at Stafford Bingley Hall in 1977, and I have been waiting for a moment like this! I still haven't come down!

After sending in a short review of the Arnhem show I went to in 2011, here a few thoughts about the show in Amsterdam, Sept 8th.

Let me start that like the gig in Arnhem, it was an absolute massive, overall experience that brought tears to my eyes once again. I was impressed again by the great effects and high (technical) level of the performance.

2 things though:
I had the strong impression Roger lip synced much of his performance. Such a different sound compared to the shows I have seen since the In The Flesh tour. A bit too much, it felt unnatural in my opinion.

and another thing: I got a bit tired of the overflying helicopters shooting at the audience and the like. The message of the show is clear, it felt like an overkill.

But that shouldn't keep anyone away from the few shows to come. It simply is a show, an experience you can't afford to miss.

I have seen The Wall preformed five times including the original Pink Floyd version in Los Angeles in 1980. The stadium show in Amsterdam was by far the biggest and best of them all.

I met some new friends from the US, Germany, and Ireland at a pub in Dam square for a pre show party that really set the mood for a great concert experience.

As for the show, it was nothing short of fantastic. The sound was amazing, which is not always the case in stadiums. I noticed a lot of the visuals had changed since I last saw the show in 2012, which was a nice surprise.

I flew 10,000 miles round trip from Houston Texas just to see this show one last time, and it was totally worth it!
