WARNING - SPOILERS AHEAD!

Do not read on if you don't want surprises to be spoilt, regarding what the band played, and what happened as the night unfolded!

Night sixteen of the tour, and eleven left to follow. Unlike the previous show, lights were extinguished in the venue giving a much better view of the projections and lighting, although the show wasn't without its little glitches. If you went to this show in Budapest, please let us know what you thought of the event, and if anything interesting or different happened if you've been to previous shows and can compare.

CONCERT REVIEW and PICTURES by BD CONTRIBUTOR, Bogdan Ionescu

About the show... It was my third The Wall concert (and 4th RW) and my first on a stadium and marked a huge difference between the arena shows I was before.

Roger Waters - Budapest 2013Roger Waters - Budapest 2013

The wall was much wider and the projections were a bit improved from the 2011 concerts, the plane crashed a few seconds later it didn't synchronize with the last drum note of In The Flesh. Mr Roger enjoyed speaking Hungarian a few minutes before Mother started but I couldn't understand any word, I'm Romanian.

During the second In The Flesh they had some problems with the flying pig, one of its ropes was stuck between two bricks or something, but the staff rapidly solved the problem. The sound was great, I was a little worried about the sound in an outdoor venue, I thought all the sound effects will not be as clear as in the arena shows but I was wrong. The big distance between the speakers produced some kind of echo sometimes, but it was very nice and I enjoyed it.

I wished the Hungarian crowd were a bit more loud and enthusiastic, but maybe Hungarians are not neccessary Mr Waters' biggest fans. I was also expecting to see the stadium full of people but I was wrong, I'm very curious to find out how many people were there.

I'm looking forward to see the show in Bucharest on August 28th and in Belgrade, September 1st and sadly this two shows will probably be my last live contact with any Floyd member...

CONCERT REVIEW by BD CONTRIBUTORS, Marc & Lex

After a short night in Vienna we take the train to Budapest. Although having some technical problems with the train we arrive at the end of the afternoon in overwhelming Budapest. As the concert is the next day we use the time to enjoy this city of architecture and bars!

Sunday morning we take a cab and arrive in the very old stadium. After picking up the special tickets we take our seats. In Vienna we sat pretty in front. In Budapest we sit more to the back and with some impressive music boxes behind us. The overview and sound will be perfect. Although the stadium is very old, together with the enthusiastic Hungarian fans it creates a very nice atmosphere.

And then it's time for the show! The lights go off (as those of most of the serving places) and this means that the Hungarians understand the importance of a good, sharp and clear view. WOW, the sound and band are even better than in Vienna! There are so many highlights, the band members and Roger Waters are having fun, and so have we! After visiting seven concerts of The Wall we agree that this is the best episode we haven seen. Roger Waters will probably think a little bit different of tonight's show as there are technical problems with the plane (it starts way to late) and the pig (which looks pretty uncontrollable). The Hungarian fans and we are enjoying a very great show and these technical problems did not change this. After the concert we are still blown away. What a fantastic concert we have seen! As a last note our compliments for the Hungarian organisation which provided a very smooth way out of the stadium. Tommorow we fly back to Holland and have to wait for our next show in Dusseldorf.
