CONCERT REVIEW by BD CONTRIBUTOR, Dave Sewell
An awesome show! Everything I hoped it would be and yet more! The subtleties in some of the projections were sublime, such as the silhouette of the small child walking along the stage during the finger pointing bit in "another Brick pt2", but hated the new ending to the song. Just doesn't fit!
Comfortably Numb, the guitar solo was fantastic, dare I say better than Gilmour from the last few PF Tours? YES I CAN as it was, Gilmour just seems to be going through the motions with it now. Snowy just blew it away!
The show was over just way too fast.
My only criticism would be the overtly politicalness of it. The original Wall was anti-war yes, but the main theme was alienation, and the new images just don't seem to gel to this, so the message was very heavy and laboured, and to the point of overkill.
Anyway, I'm glad I didn't miss it, Possibly the best show I've seen since RW in 2007 in Christchurch.
