CONCERT REVIEW by BD CONTRIBUTOR, Peter
When I got tickets on the day they went on sale, I had no idea what to expect from this show. I purposefully tried to avoid as much as I could - pictures, video, audio. I knew the album well of course, and couldn't fail to see the odd snap or mention on the news down here in Oz, before this show, but nothing can prepare you for the sonic and visual onslaught from the moment the puppet is brought on stage by the guards, right through to when the wall itself falls down right at the end.
I was sat in the Upper section and was worried that not being down the front, my view would be spoiled. It wasn't. If anything I think the show is better from further back to see the screen properly and to take in the many messages shown on it.
Musically it sounded like they all nailed it. The audience was pretty quiet which I was surprised at but it meant we could all hear better. The band seem to love doing the show, and that probably helps with the performance.
I now wish that I'd got the money together for tickets to another night as one was just not enough! Thank you Roger! You've made my year!! It was fantastic!
