Roger's tour of The Wall arives in Zagreb for a show at the recently built Arena Zagreb. It should prove an incredibly popular show with Roger's many Croatian fans. The RogerWaters.com presales began on August 27th, with advance tickets available to those who had registered their interest in particular cities. General sale tickets went on sale shortly after through normal outlets (exact dates and outlets can be found via Roger's website). The public sale will also see a limited number of VIP packages made available for each show on the tour.

Do not read on if you don't want surprises to be spoilt, regarding what the band played, and what happened as the night unfolded!

Night fourteen of the tour, and the first ever concert by a member of Pink Floyd in this country! Anticipation and excitement naturally ran at almost fever pitch for the show, with heavy demand for tickets. If you went to this show, please let us know what you thought of the event, and if anything interesting or different happened if you've been to previous shows and can compare.

This was the first time that any member of Pink Floyd came and performed in the Balcan region, and as The Wall fell at the end of the show, Roger himself said: "it took me 40 years to come here.." And what a show it was!

The Arena Zagreb was crowded to its full potential with people from entire former Yugoslavic Federation, plus fans from Bolgaria, Romania, and Hungary. And we were all blown away from the moment we entered the Arena and saw the majestic wall with Mr. Screen right on top of it!

The atmosphere was building up as the sold out Arena patiently waited. At approximately 8:15 PM lights dimmed, and In The Flesh blew every one in to another dimension...a dimension of pure music, fantastic surround sound and mindblowing (that word really tends to describe the entire tour) visuals, that were never seen before ­ and for that matter will probably never be seen again for probably decades.

I will not make this review, to describe a song-to-song description of what was going on, all of you know how it goes, I just want to say the show was absolutely incredible, the crowd was as enthusiastic and loud as it could possibly be, and the long standing ovation at the end of the show revealed the impact this show made on all of us, who were lucky to attend this show.

Thank you Roger and the whole crew for a spectacle, that every living Pink Floyd fan should see ­ It is definitely the ultimate concert performance, that is completely undescribable - you simply have to experience it for yourself.

Oh, it was amazing last night in Zagreb. Just the greatest show I have ever seen and that will ever see! I'm very happy and glad that I attended something like that. It will be forever in my memory. Thank you, Mr. Waters and The Team!

My friend Kevin had a chat to a few friends that he only sees when he comes out to Croatia and at around 7pm I headed inside the venue. It was all standing on the floor again and just a typical arena like most other cities. The last three shows, that I had missed in the venue I hated, had been great according to Kevin (and what I'd read online) apparently due to the venue being so big the wall was extended in length and was approx 25% bigger and the projections looked amazing! Tonight it was back to the 12 bricks high and 48 bricks wide “normal” dimensions.

As I walked onto the floor I bumped into my friend Werner (whom I'd last seen in Milan) and my friend Peter whom I'd not see since the Dark Side shows. We chatted for a good 20 minutes but as it was Peter's first show of The Wall we had to keep any chat about the show quiet. Werner was going to Prague so we’d meet up there and Peter was coming over to London in May so we’d have more time to chat there too. By the time I made my way to the front left side of the stage Kevin had already come into the venue and secured a place for us both one row back from the front rail, he'd also been talking to a lot of the fans around him and after I arrived I gave a few cards to them promoting my blog, also took a couple of pictures with some of the people to put on the blog as promised.

You could tell before the show that the Croatian audience were going to be good. Roger's never played Croatia before, something he made reference to in his speech at the end of Outside The Wall. The show was a little late starting and the fireworks went up around 8:10pm. Roger's done this thing at a couple of the last shows that I've seen where when one of the guards places the long leather trench coat on his body his face just lights up and he looks all happy as though he's missed wearing the coat and feels good to get back in it! Kind of hard to explain but if your near the front at the shows, watch the expression on his face as he puts the coat on.

We were right about the crowd, they were fantastic and whilst they weren't as loud as at the Milan shows they were very enthusiastic and communicated this with shouts and cheers. The show was without hitch as now seems the norm to be honest, it's funny though, as whenever they seem faultless I speak to Dave K afterwards sometimes and it's amazing how many technical problems he'll say they've had in what seems like a faultless show!

Once again "no fucking way" was written on the left side of the wall in the local language. Whoever came up with this idea is a genius, this always gets a great reaction from the crowd and it's strange how a lot of things that Roger says in English are totally lost on the "foreign" crowd, the English just doesn't come across; Roger saying he may come across as being a bit narcissistic at the beginning of Mother being one of them, at all the shows in English speaking countries I've seen this always gets a chuckle from the audience but not once in non speaking English cities has this happened. There's a couple of other times when this happens too that I've noticed this too but cant recall them at the moment.

When I was chatting to Jon Joyce in Milan he was telling us how Roger and everyone always refers to him as the sergeant. Roger had ordered Jon some special sergeant stripes for his shirt and I was able to see at tonight's show that he had indeed received these and they were sewn on the shoulder of his right arm, complete with customised crossed hammers on them! The guys all did a great job tonight as did the rest of the band. Dave seemed to really enjoy Run Like Hell for some reason tonight and the hair flicks were a lot more than normal!

The wall cam down in spectacular fashion, Kevin and I both got a great gust of “wall wind” and the crowd erupted with cheers after seeing it come crashing down. At a lot of the shows the first few notes that Roger plays on the trumpet are always a touch rusty, if you're at the front then make sure you watch Dave and Snowy's reaction to Roger's trumpet playing, always makes me smile. Tonight was a little different and Roger was heard “blowing his trumpet” before the band came out onstage, I'm not sure if he thought the radio mic was off when he did this or that he knew and was just having a laugh but it sounded just like it would if someone who couldn't play picked it up and started blowing it for a few seconds. Snowy and Dave came out onstage in hysterics and laughed as Roger started playing yet again.

It was a fantastic show and as noted earlier in this entry, Roger commented that he couldn't believe it had taken him 40 years to come and play Croatia! I was surprised at how young the audience were tonight, normally it's a good mix of young and old people and male and females, however, I'd guess at least 70% of people were under 30 and at least 40% of the audience were young girls! Something Kevin also noticed and commented on when we got outside the venue.
