CONCERT REVIEW - by BD contributer, Jeffrey Hartzell
I went and saw "An evening with Roger Waters" last night in Omaha
Nebraska. I took my fiance and her seven year old son. They loved it!
And I have to say, having missed the chance to see Pink Floyd when they
came to Ames IA in 1994, this was going to be the closest I would ever
come to seeing Pink Floyd live.
It was for me one of the greatest experiences of my entire life. To
get to be that close to one of my heroes and hear him play his music,
my favorite band's music, was like a dream come true. This concert will
be very hard to top in my eyes. I really enjoyed this show.
I wish Roger would get back with Pink Floyd for one last tour so I
could see them all together. I know that will never happen. This was
the closest thing to that and I'm very happy I was able to have taken
our son to his first concert and have it be a concert that will be for
him so unbelieveably hard to top. I think it's been something that he
will never forget and neither will I!
Absolutely AWESOME!!!!!!!

Just stopping by to tell you about my amazing experience at Roger's
show last night! I am still in a euphoric state! My fiance has been a
fan of Roger's all his life and has followed his career. He taught me
so much about Roger and his music. But even though I knew all of that,
I didn't realize that once I saw Roger in person, on stage, I would
have the most amazing musical and spiritual experience of my lifetime.
From the minute he came out on stage, I was hypnotized by his aura,
his presence, his whole entire being. I have searched for serenity like
that my whole life! And even though I didn't meet Roger in the physical
sense, I feel that I met him in the spiritual sense last night... if
you could feel what I was feeling, you would know. It was the strangest
experience, and the most perfect experience all in one.
I will NEVER forget my night with Roger Waters... I will never be the same. Roger Waters is truly an angel!

I really don't know how to best describe this show. I have been to a
lot of great concerts over the years (including Floyd in 94) and I
don't remember ever feeling this blown away by a performance. Never has
any concert given me that kind of rush. This will go down as the
greatest show I have ever seen and I feel a little depressed knowing
that I will probably never witness anything like it again.
Roger told the crowd that Omaha was the best North American crowd so
far. Roger doesn't seem like the kind of guy that would blow smoke so
it was quite a compliment to the fans. There were no boos during Beirut
but a large amount of people did get up during the Final Cut tunes
which surprised me as Southampton Dock & Fletcher Memorial Home
were played and sang to perfection and sounded
awesome.
Sheep, Vera, & Bring the Boys Back Home left me speechless and
will be burned into my memory forever. Set the Controls sounded so cool
live and In The Flesh was just absolutely mind blowing. Hearing DSOTM
live for the first time was nothing short of astounding.
I can't even begin to imagine the power Floyd had at their peak, but
this concert gave me a taste of what it might have been like.
CONCERT REVIEW - by BD contributer, Worm
Roger Waters was by far the best concert I've been to and I've seen my fair share of bands. I was admitted into the hospital Thursday June 28th for sickness but told doctor that I needed out Friday for the show. I was taking my kid to his first concert, he is 14 - my doctor said "well I'd like to be 6 foot 5 too but?"
And I said well if I'm not out of here I'm leaving! Well to shorten up this story I pulled out my own IV and left the hospital Friday at noon and was on the road for Omaha. Got to the show - it was unmentionable, no words can explain. My kid told me he loved it and I told him he will never see a concert as good as this was in a lifetime.
