A hugely appreciative crowd greeted the band in Winnipeg, and they repaid this reception with a great, very fresh feeling show. Hard to believe that there are just seven full shows left, along with the Live Earth appearance, before the tour wraps up, the astronaut and pig get that deflated feeling, and the prism gets the plug pulled...

I just got back from the Roger Waters concert held in Winnipeg. Last year I was the lucky winner of free tickets to see Roger in Montreal thanks to our local radio station 92 CITI FM. I decided to take my 14 year old daughter, who is now a Pink Floyd fan.
When I heard that Roger was coming to Winnipeg (for the first time ever), I couldn't wait to get tickets. This time I took both my teenage daughters.
Well... it's early the next morning and all I can say is WOW! Even though it was the same set list and the same musicians as Montreal... even though I knew which songs were coming, when the PIG was going to fly, what slides were going to be on Mr Screen, it was MORE FANTASTIC then the last concert. It is amazing how fresh the band sounded.
Favourites? There are so many. There are probably going to be enough descriptions of the concert without me going into ALL the details, however here are some highlights:
Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun - AMAZING staging. Great sound and terrific video in the background. And a most amazing "saxophone duel" between Ian Ritchie and Jon Carin.
Of course Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety...the way it was meant to be heard. This is not just a collection of songs, but an entire suite which has to be experienced.
Carol Kenyon's version of Great Gig in the Sky was absolutely breath-taking. She has a haunting vocal quality that lifts you up and takes you on wondrous musical journey and her performance definitely deserved the massive standing ovation she received. They almost had to stop the concert because the applause for her was so thunderous.
Dave Kilminster and Snowy White were incredible both individually and together, particularly during Any Colour You Like.
And Roger Waters. What can one say. He is truly a showman and great musician. Considering he has been doing this tour since 2006, everything seemed fresh and he looked like he was really enjoying himself. He particularly took time out the show his appreciation for Canadian audiences and he appeared truly touched by the thunderous applause and adulation heaped upon him and the band for a phenomenal concert. Truly a once (or in my case twice) in a lifetime experience.

Hi, just a quick note as I saw Roger Waters in concert last week in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The show was absolutely stunning. I have never seen anything like it, nor do I ever expect to see anything like it in the future. Roger was absolutely captivating. It is perhaps the only time in my life that I've had difficulty putting an experience into words. Simply unbelievable. Any who has the opportunity to catch one of his remaining shows absolutely MUST attend!
