Putting all the speculation and rumour to bed, tonight was the night that saw David Gilmour repaying the favour to Roger after he took part in the Hoping Foundation charity event last year, by performing a stunning Comfortably Numb atop the wall at London's O2 Arena.
Rumours that he'd be bringing his guitar work to Run Like Hell proved unfounded, but if the crowd thought that they'd seen the last of David, Outside The Wall proved them wrong! Making for a very moving sight, David and Roger greeted each other as Roger thanked him for taking part. Then, to add further to the special nature of the night, Nick Mason was called to join them. As you'll see from the pictures and video clips on the May 12th show page (click here), Roger played his trusty trumpet, David a mandolin, and Nick a tamborine!
The morning following the show, the BBC's Breakfast TV programme covered the event, and many of you will be able to view Colin Paterson's Wall feature on the BBC website on demand.
