Why Pink Floyd logoOne of the many pleasures of the current Why Pink Floyd remaster and collectors edition box set programme is the way that, wherever you turn, Pink Floyd are back in the press, on TV, or on the radio. It's about time!

Earlier this week, Nick Mason was interviewed on US satellite station XM/Sirius channel 26 'Classic Vinyl', on Thursday September 27th at 12 noon EST, and this hour long show can be heard via Youtube through the following links: part one, part two, part three, and part four.

Also, this time in the UK, Nick was on BBC Radio 4's Loose Ends on Monday. For those who missed this, you can still hear the interview with him, and the sneak preview of the Stephane Grappeli guest appearance on Wish You Were Here, via the BBC iPlayer service in selected countries. Our thanks to Jason Pyke and Kevin Whitlock for the info on this one.

This coming week doesn't let up on the Floyd front, and the BBC in the UK have scheduled a large amount of coverage, beginning tomorrow on BBC Radio 2, and peaking Friday night on BBC6 Music where their Pink Floyd Night runs from 7pm, right through to 4am the following morning! Here's the full schedule of what's coming up:

First up, on the UK's BBC Radio 2 Monday evening (October 3rd) at 10pm is "The Record Producers: Pink Floyd". In this hour long programme, Richard Allinson and Steve Levine look at the work of Pink Floyd with access to original multitrack recordings and contributions from David Gilmour, Nick Mason, Joe Boyd and others. A "few extra surprises along the way" are promised, so definitely one to tune into! More details here.

The main bulk of the BBC's coverage takes place on Friday (October 7th) on BBC6 Music. They start things off in the early hours, with the airing of Wish You'd Been Here: The Pink Floyd Story part 1 at midnight, followed by Wish You'd Been Here: The Pink Floyd Story part 2 at 3am.

This is just an appetiser for the evening itself, which runs as follows:

Finally, on Sunday, October 9th at 3pm, BBC Radio 2 devotes two hours to "Johnnie Walker's Sounds of the 70s". Johnnie goes back to the 70s with Pink Floyd. He talks to David Gilmour and Nick Mason about being at the forefront of the prog rock explosion.

Our thanks to David Haddock and to Danny for their help with this information.
