Hi there! Well, the first six months of 2008 have been rather good, haven't they? More DSOTM shows from Roger Waters, and the two stunning Atom Heart Mother concerts (one of which included David Gilmour).
On now is Storm Thorgerson's exhibition in London. This will be seen later in Cambridge, which also hosts the Syd Barrett events in October; there's also David's "Live in Gdańsk" album, due out in September in no less than FIVE different packages; and who knows what else will emerge over the coming months?!
No news yet on the surround mix of Wish You Were Here, or a live DVD from Roger Waters, both things we get a LOT of emails about from you guys!
To show your support for what we do - the time, effort and money involved in running Brain Damage - by going into Amazon using our special links for buying ANYTHING, not just Floyd stuff. This really helps us, as do Paypal donations which get put towards our hosting fees and other essential costs, keeping this site up and running. We're hugely grateful to anyone who helps us out with this!
Cheers!
All the Brain Damage team.

A lovely, sunny July afternoon in the heart of the Sussex countryside provided the perfect backdrop for a very special chat with Ron Geesin.
Ron was on fine form, and very happy to talk at length about not just the 2008 performances of Atom Heart Mother, but about his days with Pink Floyd in the late sixties and early seventies - sailing with Nick, exploring The Body with Roger, and his thoughts, looking back, on Atom Heart Mother.
Read our exclusive three-part interview to find out the full story of the Chelsea Festival shows, which includes a look to the future for the piece. Peppered with his son Joe's own pictures from the concert rehearsals, the interview reveals Ron's thoughts on music, the media, what might happen to footage shot in the run-up to the shows, and much, much more...

Just a reminder for you about an unique concert appearance by Roger Waters this coming Sunday - August 10th - at 6:30pm at the Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival in New York, USA. Stravinsky’s “The Soldier's Tale” will be played with a roster of artists that includes none other than Roger Waters. In this piece, the second half of the concert, Roger will take the narrator’s part as well as that of the Devil and the Soldier.
Despite the venue being nice and intimate - just 360 seats - and the performance something we never expected to see from Roger, amazingly there are still tickets left for the performance. Tickets are $30-$40, and can be purchased by calling 631-537-6368.
For those who will be unable to make the journey to Bridgehampton, there is a glimmer of hope that there will be another chance to hear the performance. Each concert is recorded for later airing on American Public Radio's Performance Today. The show is carried on 250 radio stations around the USA and is heard by over 1 million listeners each week. Roger's performance will be recorded, but whether and when it makes it to air depends on a number of factors, most especially artist approval.
More info on the festival can be found at www.bcmf.org, and more info on APR's Performance Today can be found at www.performancetoday.org.

Our friend Phil Taylor, David Gilmour's long-term guitar technician, studio manager, production director and much more, has been in touch this evening with an update on the specially revised and expanded second edition of his wonderful book, "The Black Strat: A History Of David Gilmour's Black Fender Stratocaster".
The book, published by Hal Leonard, will be available from all good book retailers from September 22nd to coincide with the release of the 'Fender DG Strat' and David's 'Live in Gdansk', and is a worthy addition to the bookshelf of any fan of David's evocative guitar work over the years...

Just announced, the book "Pink Floyd On Forty-Five" should prove to be the definitive discography of Pink Floyd singles. Including over 600 commercially or promotionally released 7inches, as well as a selection of test pressings and acetates, the book is complete with cover shots, release notes and other details.
With the help of the world's foremost Pink Floyd singles collectors (including Brain Damage's good friend Hervé Denoyelle), Charles Beterams has compiled a reference work that should be as fascinating, and as visually enthralling, as his previous, highly acclaimed book, "Pink Floyd in De Polder" which he co-wrote with Robert Haagsma and published in 2007.
